The Coat of Arms of Yaracuy State

Heraldical Description


The Coat of Arms of Yaracuy State consists of a compound contour with for of tally filleted in Or (yellow) and divided per counter-bend.

The Dexter Quarter of the Chief enameled in Gules (red), charges an emblematic set integrated by a beam of ears overloaded of a sickle and superposed to a rake, everything in its colors. This Quarter indicates the Courage, the Intrepidity, the Valor and the Sacrifice, shows a beam of ears and instruments of farming alluding to the fertility of the Yaracuyanian ground and the union of its inhabitants.

The Sinister Quarter of the Base enameled in Azure (blue), presents a castle on the top of a mountain, all in its colors. This Quarter symbolizes the High Ideals, the Elevation of Sights, Justice, Loyalty and the Perseverance, presents a representation of the San Felipe (Saint Phillipe) Castle constructed with the cocoa tax for protect Puerto Cabello (Hair Port) and the mouths of tYaracuy river of the illicit commerce during the colonial times.

As external ornaments, the blazon shows a head of man crowned with a garland of natural laurels and inside of an aureole in Or (yellow). The outline in Or remember the Joy, the Constance, the Generosity and the Nobility. The crowned head and the aureole recalls the Sun of the Freedom that guides the Yaracuyanian as enunciates the State Anthem: "... my soldiers who in triumphs arrived to Peru which also they freed where the Sun had its Temples".

As crest and as supports, a pair of mining tips in its color crossed in saltire behind the field. The mining tips alludes to the work, source of all Prosperity.

A cane branch to the dexter and another one of cocoa to the sinister jointed under the Base by means of a pennant in Azure (blue) that charges as motto the inscription "ESTADO YARACUY" (Yaracuy State) in capital gothic letters of Sable (black). The cane and cocoa branches constitutes two of the main agricultural products of the region, whilst the pennant and its motto rebounds the sovereignty of the State.
