The Monaguensian Coat of Arms consist on a compound shape filleted in Or and divided per fess.
The Quarter of the Chief enameled in Vert (green) charges a wheat bundle superimposed by a hackle and a sickle and alludes to Agriculture.
The Quarter of the Base enameled in Sky-Blue shows a semblance of the regional landscape where is predominant the llano (the Venezuelan plain lands) with silhouette of mountains at the bottom and in first plane a bull in its color stands on the feet of a leafy tree. This Quarter represents the Cattle.
Over all, a counterbend in Argent (white) loading the motto "RESISTIO CON VALOR" ("It resisted with Courage") in capital gothic letters of Sable (black). The counterbend, the horse's head and the rifles remembers the Courage of the Monaguensian people.
As external ornaments, the blazon presents a horse's head looking the sinister as crest and as supports four rifles with bayonets crossed in saltire behind the field.
A branch of moriche palm moriche to the dexter and another one of sugar cane to the sinister jointed under the Base by means of a pennant vertically fringed in Gules (red) and Sable (black) charging a broken key in Argent.
The moriche palm and sugar cane branches symbolizes the wealth of the regional ground. The pennant reminds the historic period knew as "Guerra a Muerte" ("War until dead") as a part of the Venezuelan Independence War and the broken key symbolizes that Maturín -capital city of the State- was forced but never surrended.
